New Entrants 2021
Welcome to Warren Park Reception Classes
We are delighted to welcome you and your child to Warren Park Primary School as part of our new reception class!
We work very closely together to make sure that you and your child are well prepared to join our Warren Park family. Although we are really looking forward to welcoming you into our school, the transition process will be different this year.
It is definitely an unusual and challenging time at the moment, and we know you and your child may be feeling worried about the transition into Reception this September. We want to reassure you that we are here for you every step of the way.
In order to follow the government’s guidelines on social distancing, we have had to adjust our arrangements for supporting this year’s transition. However, we hope the remote activities that we have planned will help put your child (and you!) at ease and feel as excited as we are about the new school year.
Some of you will already be familiar with ‘Tapestry’ which is an easy to use, secure online learning journal which allows parents and staff to communicate together and build a very special record of your child’s journey through Reception. We will set up Tapestry in the next few weeks for our new Reception children and this will enable teachers to share information and be able to post videos which will help your child make the connection with their new school.
Our Transition package this year is as follows.
29th June till 9th July we would like to invite you to visit our school and meet some of the teachers from our reception team. This will enable us to meet both you and your child. It is an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have and for us to pass on information and most importantly to meet your child. At this visit you will also be able to view and order school uniform. We will email dates and times and details for your visit.
7th September we would like to invite you and your child to a stay and play session for 1 hour. This is a great opportunity for you and your child to see the classrooms and play together. You will meet all the staff who will be working with your child this coming year.
8th September we would like to invite you and your child back into school. At this session we hope your child will come down to the classroom with our staff to play and you will have the opportunity to find out more about the EYFs curriculum and our Monster Phonics program.
9th and 10th September your child will be in school for 2 hour sessions. Sessions are either 10am-12am or 1pm-3pm. (details will follow)
13th September all children in school 8.45-12.00
14th and 15th September all children in school 8.45-1.15 (children will stay for lunch)
16th September children will be full time if they are ready. 8.45- 3.05
