Job/Person Summary

Warren Park Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic, hard-working and committed person to join our busy site team.  The successful candidate will need to be able to work both independently and as part of a team.  The role will include site security, building maintenance and cleaning.  The candidate will need sound DIY skills to be able to carry out this role successfully.  Flexibility is important as no two days are the same!

The main duties of the role are:

  • Minor repairs, maintenance and decoration around the school
  • Routine health and safety checks
  • Cover for cleaning staff during periods of leave or sickness
  • Ensuring a high standard of cleaning throughout the school, both internally and externally
  • Site security
  • Keyholding
  • Lifting and shifting
  • Supervision of external contractors
  • Ensuring that the highest standards of health and safety are maintained at all times
  • Working in a flexible manner to meet the needs of the children, the staff and the school.

The main working hours are between 2.30pm and 6.30pm during term time.  However this is a 41 week contract which means the successful candidate will also be required to work ten days spread over the school holidays throughout the academic year.  A certain degree of flexibility may be requested with respect to working hours in the case of sickness cover.

School Cleaner

Job/Person Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking person to join our site team.  The post is for two hours a day, Monday to Friday between 4.30pm and 6.30pm.  The role is for 41 weeks a year which is term-time plus ten days for deep cleaning spread over the various school holiday periods.  General daily cleaning duties include cleaning of sinks and toilet areas, cleaning down all surfaces, vacuuming and mopping .  Deep cleans will include much more in depth cleaning and training is provided.

The successful candidate will:

  • Take pride in their work
  • Have high standards of cleaning and hygiene
  • Understand and follow agreed school health and safety procedures and policies
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and adhere to on site security rules
  • Be able to meet the physical demands of the role, including some manual handling, safe use of footstools/stepladders for high level work and sweeping some of the school’s paths, steps and playground areas when required
  • Be able to work well as part of a team as well as independently
  • Attend regular training
  • Be flexible around helping out when other members of the team are absent
