Midday Supervisory Assistant

Salary Details: Band A, Step 1, £9.50 an hour

Hours of Work: 11.55am to 1.05pm, Monday to Friday TTO

Job/Person Summary

We are looking to extend our really great team of lunchtime supervisors.  Are you responsible, caring, enthusiastic and reliable?  Do you enjoy working with children and other adults?  If so, then we need you!

Duties will include:

  • ensuring that all children are safe, happy and well behaved at all times
  • supervising and helping children while they eat their lunch
  • supervising and playing with children outside on the playground, or in classrooms when it rains
  • administering some basic first aid
  • generally ensuring that lunchtimes are a happy time for all involved and dealing with any issues in a positive and thoughtful way.

After School Club Play Worker

Salary Type: Support Staff

Salary Details: Band C, step one, £9.99 an hour

Hours of Work: 7 hours a week, term time only

Job/Person Summary

We are looking to add another member to our ‘Kids Club’ team to assist with the day to day activities of our excellent after school club provision.  The successful candidate will provide quality playcare within the framework of our club’s policies and procedures.

Main duties include:

  • assist with planning, preparing and delivering quality play opportunities within a safe and caring environment
  • provide comprehensive care for the children including collecting them from the school hall at the end of the day and delivering them safely to parents and carers at the end of the day
  • setting up the play space, including moving furniture and play equipment
  • providing refreshments and ensuring that hygiene, health and safety standards are met
  • administering first aid when necessary
  • consulting with the children and involving them in planning activities
  • helping with club administration when necessary
  • facilitating good communication with all members of the organisation, parents and the school
  • undertake appropriate and relevant training
  • keeping the work environment healthy, safe and secure

Essential qualities:

  • experience of working with 4 to 11 year olds
  • understanding the varied needs of children and their families
  • understanding the issues involved in the delivery of quality play care
  • understanding the issues of equal opportunities
  • provide and facilitate safe and creative play
  • good communication skills
  • ability to work as part of a team
  • sound judgement and common sense
  • understanding the importance of the safeguarding of children

Desirable qualities:

  • previous experience of working within a play-based setting
  • relevant playworker qualification
  • appropriate child protection training
  • existing DBS enhanced check (this would be applied for by the school if the successful candidate did not have one)
