Evaluation of S.T.E.M.

Following on from our project of making a moveable prototype, the children had assess, evaluate and make changes to their project. The first job was to use a critical eye to see which changes would improve their model. They used a photocopied picture of their original model to write any changes they thought necessary.

Was the background strong enough? Could the aesthetics be improved? Was the model in proportion?

What adjustments did you make?

The children then prioritised the adjustments and worked on their models accordingly. If they were happy with their changes they had the opportunity to add another dimension, such as a moveable flap or a slot, possibly making it go in an interesting direction.

Did you use different tools for your adjustments?

Could you make something at home using the knowledge learnt from making your moveable model?
