Next stage of Roundhouse
There’s a lot of work going on with the roundhouse this term. One job is to paint the walls using a mixture of white paint and water.
Do you know what was originally used?
The children have been fully kitted for this activity as they are having great fun painting the walls.
Using loppers the ash trees have been cut and used to make the roof. The children are becoming really confident and able to use the loppers. Hessian sacks covered in glued on straw will cover the roof.
The ring beams are made from the hazel rods, the cross over beams are relying on the children’s expertise of knot tying.
Inside the round house the walls are being covered with newspaper and watered down glue.
A small hole is going to be left in the roof, why is this?
