Science - Planning

At our school, science is rooted in curiosity, discovery, and the world around us. Every year, children explore a big guiding question through their outdoor classroom, returning each term to make observations, collect data, and reflect on what has changed. This long-term approach helps them build knowledge step by step: spotting seasonal changes, understanding habitats, making connections between living things, and considering their own growth and wellbeing. By the time pupils leave Year 6, they are confident scientific thinkers—able to observe carefully, ask meaningful questions, and explain the world with growing independence.
